Abundant Recreational Options
Ample wetlands and woodlands provide plenty of outdoor recreation. Blue Springs
Federal Reservoir, two miles outside the city, features thirteen miles of shoreline
for such water activities as swimming, fishing, boating, sailing, and water skiing.
Plus, Lake Tapawingo, Lake Jacomo and Longview Lake are located minutes away and provide
additional water sport activities.
Besides area lakes, Burr Oak Woods Conservation
Area offers five walking trails and 1,071 acres of woods and wildlife for nature lovers.
In Blue Springs or within 10 miles of the city, residents can also take advantage of
20 public parks featuring 685 acres of developed and undeveloped parks, 23 public tennis
courts (9 lighted), 12 soccer fields, 3 public swimming pools including an indoor
facility, and 2 country clubs. Also, 5 walking trails, spanning 4 miles, surround the

Blue Springs is also home to the Adams Pointe Golf Club, a public championship 18-hole
golf course. The course's aesthetics are a major draw with stone-lined ponds, trees
gracing the Bermuda fairways and 13 bridges throughout the course.
